Job summary

Brand Aid Group in Qatar seeks a Treasury Accountant to manage daily treasury operations, cash positioning, bank reconciliations and payments with full country coverage. You will ensure timely, accurate processing and strong controls.

The role requires IFRS knowledge, ERP experience (Odoo/SAP), advanced Excel and data analytics, and collaboration with finance, procurement, and operations to support liquidity planning and regional reporting.

Qualifications

  • Professional accounting certification (CTP, IFRS) is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of double-entry accounting, month-end close, reconciliations.
  • Excel skills; experience with Power Query/Power Pivot/Tableau and ERP systems.
  • Multi-entity, multi-currency environments; strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own daily treasury operations for the assigned country, including cash positioning, bank transactions, reconciliations and payment execution support.
  • Prepare daily cash position and short-term cash-flow forecasts and highlight funding or liquidity risks.
  • Coordinate payment batches with AP and ensure payments comply with approval limits, bank mandates and segregation-of-duties requirements.
  • Maintain bank documentation, online banking administration and bank relationship coordination as assigned.
  • Record and reconcile foreign-currency transactions and support month-end FX revaluation and realized/unrealized FX analysis.
  • Support intercompany funding, settlements and cash transfers where applicable and ensure proper documentation.
  • Maintain treasury schedules, cash reports, bank confirmations and audit support files.
  • Ensure treasury activities comply with Group policies, local banking regulations and internal controls.

JOB DESCRIPTION — TREASURY ACCOUNTANT

1. Position Overview

Position: Treasury Accountant

Physical Location: Qatar

Allocation: Qatar

Coverage / Scope: Qatar Treasury, full coverage

Job family: Treasury & Cash Management. This role is responsible for ensuring complete, accurate, timely and controlled accounting activities across the stated coverage, with clear ownership of local statutory requirements and Group reporting requirements.

2. Role Purpose

Provide full treasury and cash-management coverage for Qatar, ensuring secure, accurate and timely bank operations, payments, cash forecasting, reconciliations and liquidity reporting.

3. Geographic and Organizational Coverage

Primary physical base: Qatar.

Formal allocation: Qatar.

Required coverage: Qatar Treasury, full coverage.

Where the role has regional coverage, the incumbent must operate consistently across entities and coordinate with local teams while respecting country-specific statutory and banking requirements.

The role must maintain standardized accounting processes, documentation and reporting while escalating country-specific exceptions to the relevant Chief Accountant / Finance leadership.

4. Key Responsibilities
  • Own daily treasury operations for the assigned country, including cash positioning, bank transactions, reconciliations and payment execution support.
  • Maintain accurate bank books and perform daily/weekly bank reconciliations, investigating and clearing differences.
  • Prepare daily cash position and short-term cash-flow forecasts and highlight funding or liquidity risks.
  • Coordinate payment batches with AP and ensure payments comply with approval limits, bank mandates and segregation-of-duties requirements.
  • Monitor bank balances, transfers between accounts, deposits, withdrawals, bank charges and other treasury transactions.
  • Manage bank documentation, online banking administration and bank relationship coordination as assigned.
  • Record and reconcile foreign-currency transactions and support month-end FX revaluation and realized/unrealized FX analysis.
  • Support intercompany funding, settlements and cash transfers where applicable and ensure proper documentation.
  • Maintain treasury schedules, cash reports, bank confirmations and audit support files.
  • Ensure treasury activities comply with Group policies, local banking regulations and internal controls.
5. Month-End, Quarter-End and Year-End Close
  • Follow the approved close calendar and submit all assigned schedules, journals and reconciliations within deadlines.
  • Investigate unusual balances and material movements and provide clear explanations.
  • Maintain audit-ready working papers and evidence for all material balances and adjustments.
  • Support management reporting and external/statutory reporting requirements.
6. IFRS, Accounting Policy and Compliance
  • Apply Group accounting policies and relevant IFRS requirements consistently.
  • Escalate non-routine or material accounting judgments to the Chief Accountant / Group Finance leadership.
7. ERP, Data and Automation
  • Use Odoo/ERP as the system of record and maintain accurate dimensions, projects, cost centers, analytic accounts and master data within the role’s authority.
  • Ensure transaction processing is supported by approved source documents and follows segregation-of-duties requirements.
  • Use Excel and, where available, Power Query/Power Pivot/Tableau or reporting tools to automate reconciliations and recurring reports.
  • Identify manual, duplicate or error-prone activities and propose system/process automation.
  • Participate in ERP testing, UAT, master-data governance and process improvements affecting the accounting function.
8. Internal Controls and Risk Management
  • Comply with approval matrices, segregation of duties, access controls and documented accounting procedures.
  • Maintain complete supporting documentation and an audit trail for all transactions and adjustments.
  • Identify control failures, unusual transactions, duplicate payments, unsupported balances or potential fraud indicators and elevate immediately.
  • Support internal and external audits and close audit findings within agreed timelines.
  • Protect financial information and maintain confidentiality.

  • Escalate material, unusual, disputed, high-risk or policy-sensitive transactions to the appropriate finance leader.
  • Do not bypass segregation of duties or create unsupported manual adjustments.
  • For regional roles, resolve operational matters locally where possible and escalation cross-country issues that could affect consolidated reporting, cash, tax or compliance.

12. Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
  • Professional accounting Certification (CTP, IFRS) is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of double-entry accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting and internal controls.
  • Strong Excel skills; experience with Power Query/Power Pivot/Tableau and ERP systems such as Odoo or SAP is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work with multi-entity, multi-currency environments and maintain disciplined supporting documentation.
  • Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Fluent professional English; Arabic is advantageous for regional roles.
  • Typically 2–5+ years of relevant accounting experience, depending on complexity of the assigned scope.
