The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the secure execution of treasury transactions, compliance with IFRS standards, and the integrity of treasury reporting and controls, while acting as a key interface with internal and external auditors, banks, and financial institutions.

This position offers the opportunity to work within a large, sophisticated treasury environment with exposure to funding, investments, bonds, guarantees, loans, and derivative instruments.

Key Responsibilities
Treasury Operations & Settlements
  • Oversee and supervise treasury back-office operations, including cash movements, inter-bank transfers, and settlement of treasury financings and deals.
  • Ensure all payments and settlements are fully authorised, accurately processed, and executed in line with governance frameworks and approval matrices.
  • Review and endorse high-value payment requests prior to senior management approval.
Treasury Accounting & Reporting
  • Supervise treasury accounting activities covering cash, loans, investments, borrowings, bonds, swaps, and other financial instruments.
  • Ensure treasury accounting and reporting are fully compliant with IFRS and internal financial policies.
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of treasury-related general ledger data within SAP.
Systems, Controls & Process Improvement
  • Oversee bank statement uploads, reconciliations, clearing of outstanding items, and KPI/dashboard reporting within agreed turnaround times.
  • Maintain and manage treasury and banking master data in SAP, including new company set-ups, banking relationships, and counterparties.
  • Contribute to treasury automation initiatives and continuous process improvements to strengthen controls and reduce operational risk.
Audit, Compliance & Risk
  • Act as the primary focal point for internal and external audits relating to treasury activities.
  • Ensure compliance with approved treasury policies, procedures, and banking regulations.
  • Support business continuity planning for treasury operations, including contingency arrangements for system outages or unforeseen events.
Investment Oversight
  • Review and report on the performance of the organisation’s equity and debt investment portfolios, both domestic and international.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
  • Manage and develop a small team of treasury professionals, providing leadership, coaching, and performance oversight.
  • Represent the organisation in dealings with banks, financial institutions, regulators, and other key external stakeholders.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Professional qualifications such as CPA, CA, CMA, or equivalent are highly desirable.
Experience
  • 10–15 years’ experience within treasury, finance, or accounting in a medium to large organisation.
  • Experience within the energy or oil & gas sector is advantageous.
  • Strong exposure to treasury instruments, banking operations, settlements, and financial reporting.
Technical Skills
  • Advanced experience working with SAP (TRM or similar ERP systems).
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office and financial reporting tools, including Power BI.
  • Solid understanding of treasury controls, governance frameworks, and financial risk management.
Personal Attributes
  • Strong leadership and people management capability.
  • Highly detail-oriented with sound judgement and decision-making skills.
  • Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Able to operate effectively in a high-accountability treasury environment.

The role offers a highly competitive, tax-free remuneration package, supported by a strong and comprehensive benefits offering, designed to attract and retain senior treasury professionals relocating to Qatar.
