Tanqeeb in Qatar seeks a Senior Lifting Specialist to guide project teams on lifting operations, safety protocols, and best practices, ensuring compliance with international standards.

You will review standards, manage assurance processes, lead investigations, and support contractor selection while delivering technical deliverables on time. The role demands strong leadership, coordination across multi-disciplinary teams, and excellent communication in challenging environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in sciences or engineering.
• 8 years of experience with large oil & gas projects.
• Knowledge of API, ASME, BS, DNV, ISO, LOLER standards.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Proficient in lifting and rigging calculations per DNV.

Responsibilities

• Support Head of Technical Lifting and project teams with extensive lifting knowledge.
• Maintain assurance process for Lifting discipline ensuring compliance with standards.
• Review and update lifting standards and best practices.
• Investigate HiPo lifting incidents; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

• Support the Head of Technical Lifting in guiding and supporting projects teams with extensive knowledge on lifting operations, safety protocols and best practices.
• Maintain a robust and effective assurance process for the Lifting discipline within Projects, to ensure compliance and consistency with company standards.

• Review, consolidate and update Lifting Standards and best practices.
• Reduce Company Strategic Risk exposure by participating in HiPo Lifting Incident Investigations, identify causal factors and root causes, recommend corrective actions and manage the mitigations implementation close out within the overall Projects.
• Applies Lifting Code of Practice to provide guidance to the project teams and to the Projects Site Lifting Specialists.
• Review and recommend improvements to key practices, procedures and plans ensuring effective and smooth project execution.
• Conducts risk-based evaluation of complex technical issues that may have significant impacts to overall project execution and manages the timely delivery of technical deliverables and issues resolution
• Consolidate and manage a resilient assurance process for the Projects execution in compliance with the Lifting Code of Practice (onshore/offshore).
• Provides technical support for the selection and qualification of Lifting Operation contractors / subcontractors and ensures contractors' processes and procedures are effective and meet requirements and Qatar government regulations.
• Conducts risk-based evaluation of complex technical issues that may have significant impacts to overall project execution. Manages the timely delivery of technical deliverables
• Promote Lifting Safety Leadership, by supporting a Proactive Safety Culture and implementing industry leading Safety best practices and initiatives, including extensive use of Life Saving Rules. Maintain a learning environment for turning lifting safety visions to improvements plans.
• Participate in HiPo Lifting Incident Investigations, identify causal factors and root causes, recommend corrective actions and manage the mitigations implementation close out within the overall Projects.

• Bachelors Degree in Sciences or Engineering
• 8 years experience with Large Projects in Construction related disciplines (e.g., construction, installation, fabrication, execution, completion, hook-up, etc.) in the Oil & Gas Industry, including 1 year of experience in a supervisory role, including acting roles, or oversight of service / vendor personnel.
• Knowledge of International standards (API, ASME, BS, DNV, ISO, LOLER) and experience in regulatory compliance.
• High competencies in lifting and rigging calculations as per DNV standard.
• Experience in establishing and managing compliance and assurance processes in accordance with corporate requirements and international standards (lifting discipline).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Computer literacy involving the regular use of professional office applications and some technical applications
• Strong communication, influencing and interpersonal skills.
