Qatar Airways is seeking an experienced Technical Architect (NFR) to lead the design and governance of non‑functional requirements across enterprise platforms. This role ensures that systems and applications meet the highest standards of performance, scalability, reliability, observability, and security, and drives architectural consistency across multi‑cloud and hybrid environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain an enterprise‑wide NFR framework addressing performance, reliability, scalability, maintainability, observability, and security.
• Define measurable KPIs, SLAs, and SLOs across critical systems such as web, mobile, API, and AI‑driven platforms.
• Architect and standardize observability solutions using monitoring and logging tools such as Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, and OpenTelemetry.
• Develop reference architecture and reusable NFR design patterns for distributed, hybrid, and multi‑cloud systems (Azure, GCP, On‑Prem).
• Lead performance engineering initiatives, including defining load and stress‑testing strategies using tools like JMeter, k6, and Gatling.
• Integrate NFR principles into system security, data encryption, and privacy frameworks, leveraging tools such as Fortanix, Azure Key Vault, and Transparent Data Encryption (TDE).
• Ensure compliance with data residency, auditing, and regulatory requirements through robust access control and logging systems.
• Validate and optimize secure API integration across gateways and platforms (Apigee, Azure API Management, MuleSoft, Solace, IBM MQ).
• Collaborate with QA and testing teams to define performance acceptance criteria and operational benchmarks.
• Establish baseline performance metrics and capacity‑planning models for mission‑critical systems.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying architectural bottlenecks and driving systemic performance enhancements.

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• 6 years of professional experience, with at least 2‑3 years in solution or technical architecture roles focused on NFR design and implementation.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and enterprise cloud architecture.
• Hands‑on experience in performance, scalability, and reliability engineering within complex enterprise environments.
• Proficiency with observability, APM, and logging tools such as Dynatrace, Prometheus, ELK Stack, AppDynamics, and OpenTelemetry.
• Knowledge of API gateways, CDNs, and WAF solutions such as Akamai, Azure Front Door, and F5.
• Strong understanding of security protocols including OAuth, SAML, TLS, and encryption‑at‑rest/in‑transit.
• Proven ability to identify, analyze, and resolve application performance bottlenecks.
• Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect are highly desirable.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder‑management skills.
