Job summary

Georgetown University in Qatar (GU-Q) seeks an experienced Director of Finance to lead financial strategy and operations in Doha. The role involves close collaboration with the COO to manage accounting, payroll, procurement, treasury, and student financial services, while coordinating audits and regulatory reporting.

The successful candidate will develop and communicate financial policies, oversee annual planning and five-year budgets, and ensure robust controls and compliant financial reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration.
• Master’s degree preferred for senior leadership.
• CPA certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee GU-Q’s financial management strategy in consultation with the COO.
• Manage general accounting, payroll, procurement, treasury, and student financial services.
• Coordinate fiscal reporting and audits; ensure timely monthly/year-end close.
• Lead budgeting processes and five-year financial planning at department level.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and sponsor requirements; oversee contracts and negotiations.
