Job summary

Georgetown University in Qatar (GU-Q) invites applications for the Director of Faculty Affairs. This 3-year term role oversees recruitment, appointments, promotions, and key academic administration in collaboration with the Senior Associate Dean for Faculty and Academic Affairs.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree preferably in the humanities or social sciences.
• PhD preferred.
• 8+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience managing teams and implementing academic policies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee recruitment, appointment, reappointment, and promotion processes for full-time core and teaching faculty.
• Advise faculty on university policies and ensure compliance tracking.
• Coordinate high-volume administrative processes related to promotions, reappointments, research leave, and workload standards.
• Support senior academic leadership in decision-making and departmental leadership.
• Lead faculty searches and oversee visiting and adjunct appointments.

Education

Master’s degree preferably in the humanities or social sciences
