Job summary

QatarEnergy in Doha seeks an experienced Purchasing Specialist to manage end-to-end procurement for assigned categories, from PR receipt to PO award, ensuring compliance with policies and confidentiality across Oil & Gas operations, shutdowns and projects. The role requires 6+ years in purchasing, ability to read drawings, knowledge of material specs, and strong English; SAP knowledge is a plus.

Proficiency in MS Office is expected to support sourcing, supplier evaluation and contract

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in purchasing equipment and materials.
• Ability to read drawings and technical documents.
• Understanding of materials specifications and standards.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Word and Excel.
• Proficient in English; SAP experience is preferred

Primary Purpose of the Job

Responsible for the procurement and supply of materials and equipment from receipt of Purchase Requisition (PR) to the award of Purchase Order (PO) for assigned Category Purchasing Groups to support QatarEnergy Oil and Gas Operations, Shutdowns and Projects. Maintain high level of confidentiality, adherence to high ethical standards and ensuring compliance to QatarEnergy Policies, Procedures, Standards and Guidelines, in the procurement process.

Required Experience and Skills

• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in purchasing equipment and materials, preferably in energy sector.
• Ability to read drawings and technical documents.
• Reasonable understanding of materials technical specifications and standards.
• Proficiency in verbal and written English is required.
• Proficient in MS Office suite, especially MS Word and MS Excel applications. Knowledge of SAP is preferred.

Educational Qualifications

• University degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or Business.
• Membership of international supply chain institutes is desirable.
