Job summary

WSP in the Middle East invites applications for a Senior Work Inspector to join its GEC Supervision team, focusing on utility infrastructure works. You will ensure quality and safety throughout construction, collaborating with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to comply with plans and regulations.

You will oversee site inspections, review method statements and safety plans, and lead safety audits while mentoring junior inspectors and delivering detailed reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 8+ years of construction inspection experience, focused on utility projects.
• Solid knowledge of utility infrastructure design and standards.
• Strong health and safety knowledge and on-site implementation.
• Proficient in inspection tools, data collection, and reporting software.
• Certifications such as CWI or CWII preferred.
• Willingness to travel and work in diverse environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and inspect utility infrastructure works to ensure compliance with project specifications, contracts, and approved drawings.
• Monitor construction activities, conduct regular site visits, and maintain detailed records of progress and quality control measures.
• Identify and report any non-conformances, providing timely feedback to contractors and project teams.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to resolve issues, ensure smooth project execution, and maintain open lines of communication.
• Review and approve contractor-submitted documents, including method statements, safety plans, and quality control procedures.
• Conduct regular safety audits and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on-site.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior inspectors and construction teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Prepare and submit comprehensive inspection reports, highlighting key findings, recommendations, and areas for improvement.
• Attend project meetings, represent the QA department, and provide expert input on utility-related matters.
• Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in utility infrastructure to enhance inspection processes.
