Job summary

Parsons in Qatar seeks a Senior Traffic Engineer to lead traffic engineering, temporary traffic management and road safety for a major roads programme. You will review diversion plans, coordinate with authorities and stakeholders, and oversee field inspections to ensure safe, compliant traffic arrangements during construction.

The ideal candidate has 14+ years post-graduate experience, 7+ years in the field, Middle East exposure, and holds or will obtain professional registration and MME

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, Transportation Engineering or equivalent.
• 14+ years post-graduate experience; at least 7 years in traffic engineering or temporary traffic management.
• Middle East experience required; experience with major roads and drainage projects.
• Experience reviewing Traffic Diversion Plans and temporary traffic management designs.
• Experience coordinating with road authorities, police, contractors, designers and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Qatar traffic management standards and requirements.
• Professional registration or chartered status preferred.
• MME certification required for personnel deployed under the contract.
• Fluent written and spoken English; strong reporting and communication skills.
• Full computer literacy with CAD, reporting, document-control and project-information systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead consultant-side traffic engineering, temporary traffic management and road safety.
• Review and approve Traffic Diversion Plan designs per contract and Authority requirements.
• Review management proposals, risk assessments, and permit submissions for roadworks.
• Inspect Traffic Diversion Plans before opening to traffic and monitor safety during construction.
• Maintain accurate inspection, approval and monitoring records for temporary arrangements.
• Advise contractor team on traffic-control requirements and interfaces.
• Liaise with client diversion specialists, authorities, police and stakeholders.
• Participate in Road Safety Audits and close-out mitigation measures.
• Coordinate with various teams on temporary traffic management and interfaces.
