Job summary

Experience in Doha is seeking a Senior Technician – Data Extractions to retrieve, validate and submit meter data from KAHRAMAA electricity and water meters. You will work in the field, using specialized hardware and software to ensure accurate data delivery.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or electronics, with at least five years in meter reading or data acquisition and KAHRAMAA certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in electrical field services, meter reading, or industrial data acquisition.
• KAHRAMAA certification preferred.
• Proficient with field laptops, meter communication software and handheld reporting tools.
• Strong understanding of electrical and water metering and KAHRAMAA standards.

Responsibilities

• Receive work orders and verify meter locations for accessibility and safety.
• Maintain a dedicated vehicle to ensure timely mobilization across zones.
• Identify irregularities such as abnormal readings or tampering.
• Capture evidence and maintain logs (screenshots, data files).
• Interface with KAHRAMAA meters using optical probes and interfaces.
• Use software and laptops to extract billing registers, interval data, and logs.
• Validate datasets for completeness and accuracy with zero data loss.
• Format data per KAHRAMAA requirements and upload to system.

The Senior Technician – Data Extractions is a specialized field role responsible for the end-to- end retrieval, validation, and submission of meter data from electricity and water meters (Bulk and Domestic). This position combines the technical expertise of an electrician with the precision of a data specialist to ensure seamless communication with KAHRAMAA meters using specialized hardware and software.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive work orders and verify meter locations, ensuring accessibility and safe field conditions.
• Maintain a dedicated vehicle to ensure timely mobilization across assigned zones
• Identify and report irregularities, including abnormal readings, unauthorized consumption, or signs of tampering
• Capture photographic evidence and maintain activity logs (screenshots, data files) as supporting evidence.
• Adhere strictly to KAHRAMAA’s standards, procedures, and safety protocols for electrical and water systems.
• Establish communication with electricity and water meters using optical probes, communication cables, and interface adapters.
• Utilize manufacturer-approved software and laptops to extract billing registers, interval data, event logs, tamper records, and configuration parameters.
• Maintain full technical capability to interface with all KAHRAMAA meter types, ensuring software and drivers are updated and compatible.
• Validate extracted datasets for completeness and accuracy, ensuring zero data loss or corruption.
• Format data precisely according to KAHRAMAA requirements.
• Perform successful uploads/submissions to the KAHRAMAA system and close assigned cases only once data is accepted.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering / Electronics.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in electrical field services, meter reading, or industrial data acquisition.
• Valid KAHRAMAA certification (preferred).
• Proficient in using field laptops, meter communication software, and handheld reporting tools.
• Strong understanding of electrical and water metering and systems; familiar with KAHRAMAA standards.
