Job summary

BAE Systems Strategic Aerospace Services WLL is seeking a Senior System Tester to lead QA across complex systems in a high-availability environment. The role focuses on validating functionality, performance, and reliability to ensure high-quality system delivery.

You will design test cases, perform various test types, and mentor junior testers while collaborating with developers, stakeholders, and operations to ensure testability and coverage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in system or software testing.
• Strong understanding of SDLC/STLC and QA methodologies.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of database testing (SQL) and API testing concepts.
• Experience testing complex or mission-critical systems.
• Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (JIRA, TestRail).
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and proactively drive tasks.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Available to support night and after-hours testing as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end testing activities, including test planning, analysis, design, implementation, execution, and closure.
• Design and execute test cases based on functional and technical requirements.
• Perform functional, integration, system, regression, and performance testing.
• Validate system integrations across multiple components and platforms.
• Analyze real-time data flows and ensure accuracy and consistency across the system.
• Identify, log, and track defects, coordinating with development teams to drive resolution.
• Review requirements and design documents to ensure testability and coverage.
• Support simulation and scenario-based testing where applicable.
• Mentor junior testers and promote best practices in testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, stakeholders, and operations.
• Other testing duties as assigned.
