Job summary

Stantec in Doha, Qatar seeks a Senior Foul Water Hydraulic Modeller to develop, calibrate and analyze complex sewerage hydraulic models for master planning, design and operation of water infrastructure.

Responsibilities include modelling, data analysis, reporting, and presenting outputs to clients. Arabic language skills are preferred; English must be excellent. This is a full-time on-site role in Doha.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering from a recognized university.
• 10+ years of experience in hydraulic modelling of foul water networks including scenario simulation, calibration, and capacity analysis for long-term planning.
• Proven advanced experience and expertise in hydraulic modelling software such as InfoWorks ICM, InfoSWMM, SewerGEMS, InfoSewer, etc. and supporting tools such as AutoCAD, ArcGIS, etc.
• Professional accreditation (Chartership/PE or equivalent) from internationally recognised engineering institutions such as ICE, CIWEM, Engineer Australia, etc., or working towards it.

Responsibilities

• Develop hydraulic models to support master planning, concept, preliminary and detailed design of wet infrastructure.
• Review, organize and analyze collected data.
• Develop hydraulic modelling method statements.
• Carry out hydraulic modelling and model validation, calibration and verification, using recognized modeling software, and develop solutions.
• Develop hydraulic modelling reports.
• Check and review hydraulic modelling work carried out by others.
• Develop maps (CAD, GIS) to present hydraulic modelling results.
• Work in conjunction with peer engineers to develop constructable solutions.
• Liaise with other discipline teams and/or teams working in the same office and remotely from other regions to facilitate completion of project tasks.
• Liaise with sub-consultants and sub-contractors to facilitate completion of project tasks.
• Complete all work in line with Stantec’s Core Values and in accordance with Stantec’s Quality Systems, Project Quality procedures and Health & Safety procedures.
• Organize and attend meetings with clients and stakeholder to collect data and discuss technical solutions and options.
• Be able to confidently present and defend hydraulic modelling outputs.
• Support inputs into bids, including development of technical bids and development of level of effort for hydraulic modelling activities.
