Job summary

SPIE Global Services Energy Qatar is seeking a Safety Officer to ensure a safe and environmentally compliant work environment across NFE onplot facilities. The role requires 10+ years in Safety or HSE and will involve implementing preventive maintenance, conducting SEQ training, and coordinating safety equipment.

You will monitor crews under permit to work, assist in incident control, and guide safety, environment and quality technicians.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Engineering, Science, or equivalent.
• 10 years or more of safety/HSE experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety equipment and facilities are kept in working order through preventive maintenance programs and procedures.
• Regular inspection, testing and maintenance of fixed and portable equipment in assigned area.
• Develop and conduct training programs in SEQ principles and practices.
• Monitor and facilitate activities of maintenance and construction crews under permit to work for SEQ compliance.
• Assist in incident control during major accidents or emergencies onsite; investigate incidents and prepare reports.
• Provide work direction to safety, environment and quality technicians to meet standards.
• Coordinate allocation of adequate safety and emergency equipment and protective clothing.
• Support in formulating, developing and implementing safety programs and ensure documentation is available.
