Job summary

SPIE Global Services Energy is seeking a Workshop Safety Officer in Doha, Qatar to ensure safe operations across workshop and fabrication areas. The role is field-based with full-time presence in a high-risk environment, requiring strong safety discipline and incident reporting.

The candidate should hold a NEBOSH Diploma or IGC and have 3–5 years of GCC-based safety experience in electrical, welding, instrument, and machine shop safety. English proficiency and field readiness are essential.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Diploma with valid NEBOSH IGC Certificate, or Diploma in Industrial Safety Engineering from a recognised institution.
• 3–5 years of experience in electrical, welding, instrument, and machine shop safety (GCC-based, Oil & Gas or manufacturing sector).

Responsibilities

• Enforce machine guarding and LOTO during maintenance/repair in workshop environments.
• Oversee PPE usage and enforce workshop safety instructions.
• Conduct toolbox talks, participate in Job Safety Analysis, and report incidents in HSEQ Synergi system.
• Perform daily safety tours covering workshop interiors/exteriors and monitor unsafe practices.
• Audit Hot Work and Maintenance Permits and ensure fire safety and equipment isolation compliance.
