Job summary

The Group Securities, Doha-based investment firm, seeks an experienced Java backend engineer to design and build scalable services using Spring Boot. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across product, frontend, DevOps, and QA to deliver robust features.

Impressive knowledge of REST APIs, concurrency, and modern Java (17+) is essential. You will contribute to microservices, ensure code quality with tests, and participate in Agile ceremonies in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional Java development experience.
• Strong Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, and Spring Security.
• Deep understanding of RESTful API design.
• Java 17+ and enterprise-grade applications.
• Experience with multithreading, concurrency, and asynchronous programming.
• Solid knowledge of OOP, SOLID, and design patterns.
• Familiarity with Maven/Gradle build tools.
• Strong unit/integration testing (JUnit, Mockito).
• Docker, Kubernetes, or container-based development.
• CI/CD tools and Git workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services using Java (Spring Boot).
• Collaborate with product managers, frontend developers, DevOps, and QA teams to deliver features end-to-end.
• Architect solutions focusing on performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Write unit, integration, and functional tests to ensure code quality.
• Lead code reviews, mentor juniors, and promote coding best practices.

• Troubleshoot production issues and performance bottlenecks.
