Job summary

Ashghal in Doha seeks a senior programme coordinator to manage ROMD ITS projects, ensuring interdependencies are communicated and governance is in place across the ITS and tunnels section. Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership of delivery are essential.

You will prepare and present programme updates to Ashghal senior managers, coordinate contract reporting, and oversee integration of projects into operations.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or relevant field required.
• Internationally recognized professional certifications preferred.
• Chartered membership would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate ROMD ITS projects and interdependencies across ITS & tunnels.
• Prepare programme updates for Ashghal senior managers and stakeholders.
• Coordinate stakeholder communications at programme level.
• Manage integration of ROMD ITS projects into operations/maintenance and project handover.
• Oversee contract-related reporting and data provision to Ashghal departments.
• Coordinate integration of tunnels and new roads into RMC management and training for new features.

Jobs in Brief:

• Responsibility for coordinating the ROMD projects as a programme, ensuring project and operational interdependencies are communicated and managed, progress reporting isconsistent and programme level governance is in place across the ITS & tunnels section
• Responsibility for preparing and presenting programme updates for Ashghal Senior Managers and key Stakeholders
• Responsibility for the programme level coordination of stakeholder communications.
• Responsibility for managing the implementation and integration of ROMD ITS projects and coordinating the integration and handover of Ashghal Project Affairs ITS projects intooperation/maintenance
• Coordinating the contractual management of ITS projects, ensuring contract related reports, data and information are supplied to other Ashghal departments in a timely manner
• Coordinate the integration of tunnels and new roads into the management of the RMC, consolidating operations and making sure training is available for new features andsoftware
• Manage the required activities associated with projects (investigation, analysis and design) in line with project requirements to ensure effective programme delivery.
• Monitor contractor compliance with the Qatar national ITS Standards, Specifications and deployment guide
• Prepare and register all relevant documentation and design reports and ensuring that all documentation is accurate and received within the system held by Ashghal.
• Work in collaboration with other disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design of the project.
• Lead the resolution of technical issues, such as substandard products, on projects and providing technical guidance to other team members
• Maintain on-going communication with relevant stakeholders and sub-contractors to build relationships and communication networks ensuring quality of service.
• Identify key trends and provide suggestions for improving ITS/ Tunnels System performance and capabilities
• Work under minimum supervision and competent to check the work of others and supervise less experienced or junior staff
• Keep up to date with industry best practice and apply best practice to ensure professional development
• Adhere to Health and Safety policy and procedures and comply with new work instructions
• Perform other duties / tasks as required

Qualification:

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other relevant subject
• Certifications obtained from North America, Western Europe, Australia, or other internationally recognized countries
• Chartered Membership in Engineering or relevant professional body would be an advantage

Experience:

• Minimum of 18 years’ cumulative experience in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in ITS area including ITS planning, deployment, procurement, Control Room operations, systems integration and optimisation
• Ability to establish strong working relationships with key stakeholders
• Ability to influence and engage staff at all levels within the organization
• Competent in Microsoft Office Packages
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English is essential
