Job summary

BAE Systems Strategic Aerospace Services WLL seeks an experienced IT professional to lead the design and implementation of Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines. You will migrate code bases, establish centralized repositories, and enforce governance and security across development environments.

You will collaborate with application teams and security to optimize networking, IaC automation, and cost efficiency while documenting procedures and transferring knowledge to the internal IT staff.

Qualifications

• 6-8 years of IT infrastructure, cloud technologies, or DevOps engineering experience.
• At least 3 years hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps.
• Proven experience designing, configuring, and implementing CI/CD pipelines and centralized source code repositories.
• Practical experience migrating application source code to Azure DevOps.
• Experience automating deployments across Development, Staging, Pre-Production and Production.
• Experience managing and enhancing enterprise Microsoft Azure infrastructure.
• Experience coordinating with development, infrastructure, and information security teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, computer engineering, or related field.
• Azure certification AZ-104/305/400 is preferred; relevant DevOps/cloud automation certs are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design and establish the Azure DevOps environment including structure, access model, and service connections.
• Migrate existing application source code and libraries to managed Azure DevOps.
• Establish centralized repositories with access controls, ownership, and auditability.
• Design, configure, and implement CI/CD pipelines for Development to Production environments.
• Replace manual FTP-based deployments with secure automated processes.
• Implement DevOps security and governance controls with Information Security.
• Coordinate with developers to assess deployment requirements and resolve issues.
• Document the setup and provide knowledge transfer and training to IT teams.
• Review Azure infrastructure and suggest improvements for security, cost and reliability.
• Assist with automation using IaC tools and standardize reusable CI/CD configurations.

Responsibilities

Design and establish the Azure DevOpsenvironment, including organization/project structure, access model, serviceconnections, and integration with the existing Microsoft Azure environment.
Migrate existing application source code andlibraries from current repositories and locations to managed Azure DevOps.
Establish centralized repositories withappropriate access controls, ownership, version control, branching strategy,and auditability.
Design, configure, and implement CI/CDpipelines for existing applications across Development, Staging,Pre-Production, and Production environments, as applicable.
Replace existing manual FTP-based applicationdeployments with secure, automated, and controlled deployment processes.
Implement DevOps security and governancecontrols in coordination with Information Security, including secrets andcredentials management, deployment approvals, and secure service connections.
Coordinate with application developers andapplication owners to assess deployment requirements, configure pipelines,resolve technical issues, and validate successful deployments.
Establish standardized and reusable CI/CDpipeline configurations to support future application onboarding.
Document the complete DevOps setup, deploymentconfigurations, and operating procedures, and provide knowledge transfer andhands-on training to the internal IT team.
Azure Cloud Infrastructure & Enhancement
Review the existing Microsoft Azureinfrastructure and recommend improvements aligned with organizationalarchitecture, security, and operational requirements.
Support Azure cloud infrastructureconfiguration, administration, automation, and optimization activities.
Assist with improvements to Azure networking,connectivity, identity and access management, security, monitoring, andgovernance.
Implement infrastructure automation usingAzure-native tools, scripting, or Infrastructure as Code (IaC), whereapplicable.
Identify opportunities for improving Azureinfrastructure performance, security, cost efficiency, and operationalreliability. Coordinatewith Infrastructure and Information Security teams to implement approved cloudinfrastructure enhancements and best practices.

Requirements
