Job summary

GHD is seeking an HV Electrical Engineer – Primary Substations in Qatar to lead technical review, design coordination and construction supervision for high‑voltage projects. You will manage contractor interfaces, ensure conformance with standards, and support testing, energization and handover activities across GIS/AIS systems and power infrastructure.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Master’s preferred.
14+ years of electrical engineering experience, HV substations experience.
Experience with 132kV/220kV/400kV substations and GIS/AIS systems.
Experience with design review, construction supervision and commissioning.

Responsibilities

Lead HV primary substation works including design review and site coordination.
Coordinate with client, contractors and authorities for technical reviews and approvals.
Witness FAT/SAT tests and energization readiness documentation.
Ensure compliance with IEC/IEEE standards and utility requirements.
Provide technical input for planning, estimation and delivery.
