Job summary

Gulf Drilling International seeks a Cost Control professional to oversee rig-level cost reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analyses for assigned assets in Qatar. You will ensure accurate cost recognition and reporting integrity.

You will collaborate with Operations, Technical, and Supply Chain to develop robust financial models, monitor variances, and prepare management dashboards that support decision making and cost optimization.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation and review of rig-level accounts, operational cost reports, and financial analyses for assigned assets to ensure accurate cost recognition, financial visibility, and reporting integrity.
• Monitor operational expenditures, cost allocations, accruals, and rig-related financial activities to ensure compliance with approved budgets, accounting standards, and finance procedures.
• Analyse operational and financial performance across assigned rigs and assets to identify trends, variances, risks, and cost optimization opportunities.
• Prepare and present operational cost analyses, rig performance summaries, and financial reports to management to support consolidation and decision-making activities.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities for operational assets by coordinating with Operations, Technical, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders.
• Review budget utilization, forecast assumptions, and operational spending trends to support effective financial control and planning accuracy.
• Conduct financial analyses, profitability assessments, and operational performance evaluations to support business planning and operational decision-making.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance financial models, reporting schedules, analytical tools, and multi-year financial plans aligned with the company’s strategic objectives to support cost control, operational planning, forecasting accuracy, and business performance monitoring activities.
• Review rig-level monthly Profit & Loss accounts, prepare and validate monthly accruals, and ensure accurate recognition of operational costs and financial transactions to support reporting accuracy and financial integrity.
• Oversee billing activities for assigned operational assets by reviewing cost data, supporting documentation, and contractual requirements to ensure accurate invoice preparation and timely billing.
• Review and validate invoices, charge calculations, and supporting financial information prior to issuance to ensure billing accuracy and compliance with contractual terms.
• Coordinate with Finance, Operations, and Commercial teams to resolve billing discrepancies, cost allocation issues, and operational reporting matters.
• Analyse monthly financial results, variance analyses, operational dashboards, and management reports related to assigned assets and operational activities to identify key performance drivers, operational trends, financial risks, and performance improvement opportunities.
• Partner with Operations, Technical, Supply Chain, Human Resources, and other departments to support financial planning, operational reporting, and business performance initiatives.
• Deliver comprehensive management reporting, including financial analyses, variance reporting, and key performance indicators (KPIs), while providing actionable financial insights and recommendations that support operational efficiency, cost optimization, and business performance improvement.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, finance procedures, reporting requirements, and internal control frameworks across assigned activities.
• Utilize ERP and financial reporting systems effectively to support accurate reporting, cost tracking, and financial analysis activities.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to cost control methodologies, operational reporting processes, and financial system utilization.
• Guide, organize, and support junior cost control staff by providing technical direction, reviewing work outputs, and supporting day-to-day operational activities.
• Promote collaboration, reporting discipline, and adherence to finance procedures within the cost control function.
