Job summary

QD-SBG Construction seeks a Senior Estimation Engineer to drive tender estimates, BOQs and technical proposals for major road and infrastructure projects in Qatar. You will lead take-offs, pricing, risk assessment and coordination with engineering, procurement and subcontractors to ensure accurate, competitive bids.

The role requires a minimum of 10 years in estimation for large projects, proficiency with Candy/CCS/BuildSmart, and a strong grasp of cost control and budgeting processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Estimation, rate build-ups, BOQs and technical bids for large infrastructure projects.
• Estimation software, cost analysis, pricing strategies and risk allowances.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates for road and infrastructure projects using BOQs, drawings and Ashghal specs.
• Conduct quantity take-offs, productivity analysis and resource planning for tenders.
• Review tender drawings, specs and requirements to understand scope and clarify gaps.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement and subcontractors for pricing inputs and clarifications.
• Evaluate supplier quotations for technical alignment, commercial compliance and risk exposure.
• Develop rate build-ups including labour, materials, equipment, overheads and margins.
• Analyze material prices, labour productivity and equipment costs for competitive estimates.
• Analyze project risks, scope gaps and uncertainties and implement mitigations.
• Maintain cost databases, market benchmarks and historical performance data.
• Participate in tender clarifications, negotiations and bid finalization.
• Manage tender priorities and ensure timely, accurate submissions.

The Senior Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing tender estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), pricing and technical proposals ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and alignment with project requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of detailed cost estimates for road and infrastructure projects using BOQs, drawings, and Ashghal specifications.
• Conduct comprehensive quantity take-offs, productivity analysis, and resource planning for tenders.
• Review tender drawings, specifications, and requirements to fully understand project scope and identify any discrepancies or clarifications required.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and subcontractors for pricing inputs and clarifications.
• Evaluate supplier quotations for technical alignment, commercial compliance, and risk exposure.
• Develop rate build-ups including labor, materials, equipment, overheads, and margins.
• Analyze material prices, labor productivity, and equipment costs to develop competitive and accurate estimates.
