Job summary

OpenTalent in Doha, Qatar is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to design and implement scalable, secure cloud-native backend platforms for AI-driven public sector solutions. You will own infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment strategies across multi-cloud environments.

The role requires strong backend experience, proficiency in Python or TypeScript/JavaScript, and hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, and modern CI/CD tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of post-graduation engineering experience focusing on backend systems.
• Proficiency in Python, Typescript, Javascript or C++.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and public cloud platforms (AWS/Azure preferred).
• Experience with containerization and deployment tech: Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker.
• Strong CI/CD tooling knowledge (CircleCI, Github Actions).
• Hands-on networking knowledge and ownership of projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure, scalable backend systems on cloud-native infrastructure.
• Own services or systems, set long-term health goals, and improve related components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to tailor backend/infrastructure solutions for secure environments.
• Write and maintain IaC templates (Terraform, CloudFormation) for provisioning and management.
• Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines and scale containerized apps with Kubernetes.
• Develop disaster recovery plans and multi-cloud/hybrid strategies.
