Job summary

Gender seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer for its Qatar operations, focusing on robust server administration (Linux/Windows), CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation. You will manage GitLab, Jenkins, Nexus, Jira, SonarQube, Azure DevOps, and Elasticsearch to ensure scalable, secure delivery pipelines.

The role requires strong scripting, virtualization, monitoring, and security practices, with collaboration across development teams to optimize deployments in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with Linux server administration (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) incl. shell scripting (Bash).
• Windows Server admin incl. IIS, AD integration and PowerShell scripting.
• Strong networking knowledge (DNS, TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, firewalls, reverse proxies).
• Experience with virtualization/containers (Docker, Kubernetes, VMware).
• Backup and disaster recovery strategies for DevOps tools/databases.
• Hands-on monitoring with Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, Zabbix, etc.
• GitLab server install/upgrade, CI/CD, runners, MR workflows, SAML/SSO, Registry.
• Jenkins master/agent setup, pipelines, plugins, Blue Ocean, Libraries.
• Nexus OSS/Pro installation and repo config (Maven/npm/PyPI/Docker/Helm).
• Jira On-Prem/Cloud installation and config, REST APIs, JSM setup.
• SonarQube setup and CI/CD integration; quality gates.
• Azure DevOps: Repos, Pipelines, Artifacts, Boards, RBAC.
• Elasticsearch cluster setup, ILM, Kibana integration, TLS.

Responsibilities

• Administer and manage GitLab server including install/upgrade, access controls, and repository governance.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD for automated build/test/deploy.
• Configure Jenkins master/agents, pipelines, plugins, and integrations.
• Install/configure Nexus Repository Manager for artifact storage and distribution.
• Manage Jira on-premises and Jira Cloud including workflows and permissions.
• Set up SonarQube for static code analysis and CI/CD integration.
• Configure and manage Azure DevOps services (Boards, Repos, Pipelines, Artifacts, Test Plans).
• Deploy and maintain Elasticsearch clusters with tuning, index management, and monitoring.
• Perform OS hardening, patching, monitoring, and troubleshooting on Linux/Windows.
• Implement IaC practices using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Collaborate to define DevOps best practices and improve delivery pipelines.
• Monitor system health, alerting, and incident response procedures.
• Document configurations, runbooks, and operational procedures.
• Ensure platforms comply with security standards and audit requirements.
