Parsons in Qatar is seeking a Senior Architectural Engineer (Theme Park and Entertainment) to join our Construction Supervision Consultant team.

You will supervise the construction, finishes, and handover of architectural works for luxury hospitality, entertainment venues, themed facades, rockwork, and scenic elements across a landmark development, ensuring design intent, quality, durability, and guest experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering required.
  • Professional registration or certification preferred.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience supervising architectural works on hospitality/entertainment projects.
  • GCC experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise construction and installation of architectural works in line with contract documents and design intent.
  • Monitor quality, schedules, and HSE requirements for Contractor works.
  • Review shop drawings, mock-ups, and material submissions for compliance.
  • Coordinate interfaces with structural, MEP, landscape, and entertainment design teams.
  • Assist Resident Engineer with variations, clarifications, and site instructions.
  • Support handover activities including snagging, commissioning, and defects removal.
  • Prepare technical reports and inspection records for project management.

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Architectural Engineer (Theme Park and Entertainment) to join our team in Qatar! In this role, you will be part of the Construction Supervision Consultant team and support the delivery of a landmark luxury hospitality and entertainment development featuring immersive entertainment experiences, world-class hospitality, premium retail, and diverse leisure attractions. You will supervise the construction, installation, finishing, and handover of architectural works across the Project, including luxury hospitality facilities, entertainment venues, fa ades, themed architecture, rockwork, scenic elements, specialty finishes, public realm features, and other guest-facing environments. You will ensure that all works meet the approved design intent and achieve the required standards of quality, durability, functionality, and guest experience.

  • Supervise the construction and installation of all architectural works in accordance with the Contract Documents, approved IFC drawings, specifications, design intent, and applicable codes and standards.
  • Monitor the Contractor s architectural works to ensure compliance with approved quality standards, construction methodologies, project schedules, and HSE requirements.
  • Review and provide technical comments on shop drawings, material submittts, mock-ups, samples, method statements, RFIs, inspection requests, and technical submissions related to architectural works.
  • Supervise the construction and installation of architectural finishes, fa ades, roofing systems, waterproofing, external cladding, interior finishes, decorative elements, and public realm architectural features.
  • Provide technical oversight for themed architectural environments, including themed fa ades, rockwork, scenic construction, specialty finishes, immersive guest environments, feature structures, and other entertainment-related architectural elements.
  • Verify that architectural works are executed in accordance with the approved design intent, ensuring consistency in appearance, detailing, materials, workmanship, and guest experience throughout the Project.
  • Coordinate architectural interfaces with structural, civil, MEP, fire and life safety, landscape, ride systems, show systems, specialist attraction vendors, and themed entertainment designers.
  • Witness inspections, mock-up approvals, material installations, fa ade testing, waterproofing inspections, and other quality-verification activities.
  • Monitor construction quality through regular inspections, identify non-conforming works, and coordinate corrective actions with the Contractor and QA/QC team.
  • Support the Resident Engineer in evaluating variations, technical issues, engineering clarifications, and site instructions related to architectural works.
  • Coordinate with operators, specialist suppliers, themed entertainment designers, and commissioning teams to ensure guest-facing environments meet operational, aesthetic, and functional requirements.
  • Participate in snagging, de-snagging, substantial completion inspections, handover activities, and Defects Liability Period inspections related to architectural works.
  • Review as-built drawings, finish schedules, operation and maintenance manuals, warranties, and handover documentation for completeness and compliance with project requirements.
  • Prepare technical reports, inspection records, progress updates, and recommendations for submission to the Resident Engineer and Project Management team.
Desired Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Professional registration or certification is preferred.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience supervising architectural works on major hospitality, entertainment, mixed-use, or destination developments.
  • Demonstrated experience in Construction Supervision or Resident Engineering roles on large multidisciplinary projects.
  • Proven experience supervising themed entertainment developments, luxury hospitality projects, integrated resorts, theme parks, cultural attractions, or other complex guest-focused developments.
  • Strong experience supervising high-quality architectural finishes, fa ades, waterproofing systems, specialty cladding, scenic construction, rockwork, and themed architectural elements.
  • Experience supervising mock-ups, fa ade testing, testing and commissioning support, operational readiness, and project handover.
  • GCC experience is highly desirable.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of architectural engineering, construction supervision practices, and contract compliance for major hospitality, entertainment, and mixed-use developments.
  • Strong understanding of architectural detailing, building-envelope systems, fa ades, roofing, waterproofing, interior finishes, specialty cladding, and public realm architectural works.
  • Extensive knowledge of themed architecture, scenic construction, rockwork, immersive guest environments, specialty finishes, and architectural elements supporting entertainment destinations.
  • Strong understanding of construction inspections, shop-drawing reviews, material approvals, mock-up evaluations, fa ade testing, quality inspections, and handover processes.
  • Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary stakeholders, including Contractors, architects, themed entertainment designers, specialist vendors, operators, consultants, commissioning teams, and statutory authorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to identify construction issues, quality deficiencies, architectural interface conflicts, and practical site solutions.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, reporting, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to review and interpret IFC drawings, architectural specifications, finish schedules, shop drawings, mock-up evaluations, material submittals, and handover documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple work fronts while maintaining focus on quality, safety, schedule, and contractual compliance.
  • Ability to function effectively within large multidisciplinary construction environments while maintaining focus on architectural excellence, guest experience, operational readiness, successful commissioning, and project handover.
