Job summary

QatarEnergy LNG in Qatar is seeking a Senior Training & Development Manager responsible for seafarers’ professional development, career progression, and certification compliance across the fleet.

You will conduct Training Needs Analyses, maintain training matrices for STCW and CBT, develop individual training plans, coordinate with providers, monitor completion and renewals, and drive cadet mentorship, career paths, and promotion processes in line with flag state and company standards.

Qualifications

• Qualifications, Experience and Job Skills detailed in the posting include CoC STCW A-III/2; minimum 48 months sailing on Tankers with 6 in a Management Level Position; familiarity with maritime regulations and training practices.
• Ability to design and manage training programs aligned with STCW, company standards, and CBT/LMS systems.
• Strong skills in Training Needs Analysis, Career Pathway Development, Performance Management, Data Management & Reporting, Mentorship, Debriefing, Stakeholder Coordination, Event & Program Management, Regulatory Compliance, and Advisory duties.

Responsibilities

• Lead Training Needs Analysis (TNA) for all seafarer ranks and roles.
• Maintain a training matrix covering STCW, company-mandated, and CBT programs.
• Develop and maintain individual training plans for each seafarer.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external providers to schedule training.
• Monitor training completion and certification validity and renewals.
• Design cadet mentorship programs and track progress.
• Develop and maintain career progression paths and promotion pipelines.
• Oversee appraisal processes and annual performance cycles.
• Evaluate external training centers and providers for compliance and quality.
• Conduct vessel visits to assess onboard training effectiveness.
