PPOAR is hiring a Librarian for an educational institution in Al-Rayyan, Qatar. You will manage the library, assist students and staff with research, and promote a love of reading. The role emphasizes organizing resources, supporting lesson planning, and ensuring a welcoming environment.

The position requires a Library Science degree and at least two years of relevant experience, with strong communication and independent working abilities. Accommodation may be provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a librarian in an educational setting.
• Knowledge of library management systems and online databases.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with others.
• Passion for promoting literacy and providing excellent customer service.

Responsabilités

• Organize and maintain the school library collection, including books, magazines, and digital resources.
• Assist students and faculty with research needs by providing guidance on effective search strategies.
• Promote literacy by creating engaging displays and programs to encourage reading.
• Collaborate with teachers to develop lesson plans that incorporate library resources.
• Manage circulation of materials, including checking in/out books and collecting fines for late returns.
• Stay updated on current trends in literature and educational technology to enhance library offerings.
• Train students on how to use the library cataloging system.
• Ensure a welcoming environment for all library users.
