Swan Global in Doha, Qatar seeks a Scaffolding Inspector to ensure all scaffolding activities meet safety standards and project specifications. You will inspect materials, erection, and structures, identify hazards, and guarantee compliance with client and statutory requirements for a safe working environment.
The role requires weekly scaffold inspections, sign-off authority, and mentoring workers on safe practices.
The Scaffolding Inspector is responsible for ensuring all scaffolding activities meet the required safety standards, regulations, and project specifications. The role involves inspecting scaffolding materials, erection, and structures, identifying potential hazards, and maintaining compliance with client and statutory requirements to ensure a safe working environment.
Conduct visual inspections to ensure scaffolding materials are in good condition and meet project standards.
Verify that the ground or supporting structure is stable and capable of carrying the superimposed load of the scaffold.
Perform risk assessments, identify hazards, and establish appropriate control measures.
Inspect erected scaffolding to ensure compliance with design drawings, standards, and safety requirements.
Check all scaffold members, parts, and connections before use.
Follow tagging procedures in accordance with client requirements, maintaining scaffold registers and checklists.
Authorize scaffold use by signing the Scaff-tag; only the inspector is permitted to do so.
Communicate with supervisors/foremen regarding additional requirements or adjustments before scaffold use.
Ensure scaffolds are inspected weekly and after any alterations or modifications.
Provide technical support and guidance on scaffolding requirements and procedures.
Educate, supervise, and assist workers in safe scaffolding practices.
Ensure compliance with all QCON safety policies and procedures.
Diploma or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
Valid certification in scaffolding inspection and related training.
Minimum of 5 years experience in scaffolding inspection within the Oil & Gas industry (Qatar experience preferred).
Strong knowledge of scaffolding standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
Ability to conduct risk assessments and implement hazard control measures.
Good communication, supervisory, and reporting skills.
Strong technical knowledge of scaffolding systems and safety requirements.
Attention to detail with strong observational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
