Job summary

Al Ali Engineering Co.WLL seeks a seasoned Health & Safety professional to oversee university-wide safety compliance, investigations, and training. You will lead inspections, risk assessments, and reporting, while promoting a strong safety culture among employees, contractors, and visitors.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in HSE or related field, NEBOSH or equivalent certification, and 5–10 years of relevant experience, preferably in higher education, with strong knowledge of Qatar

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or related discipline.
• NEBOSH or equivalent professional HSE certification.
• 5–10 years of relevant Safety/HSE experience, preferably in higher education.
• Strong knowledge of Qatar health and safety regulations and industry best practices.
• Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor workplace health and safety compliance across the University.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments and recommend appropriate control measures.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and prepare detailed reports with corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop and deliver safety training, inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness programmes.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Qatar health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Maintain safety records, certifications, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.
• Liaise with government authorities, regulatory bodies, contractors, and other stakeholders when required.
• Prepare periodic safety reports for senior management and recommend continuous improvements.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure employees, contractors, and visitors follow established safety procedures.
• Monitor emergency preparedness, fire safety, evacuation procedures, and other workplace safety requirements.
