Job summary

Snoonu is Qatar’s homegrown Super App, delivering fast delivery, ride-hailing, and shopping. We’re seeking a senior backend engineer to design and build robust services, optimize databases, and guide architecture toward scalable, maintainable solutions.

You will lead technical discussions, mentor peers, and help drive performance across distributed systems while collaborating with a global team in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend development experience with 5+ years in .NET Core.
• RESTful services and gRPC design and development for maintainable, scalable systems.
• Relational databases like PostgreSQL and non-relational databases like MongoDB/DynamoDB.
• RabbitMQ and asynchronous/distributed systems knowledge.
• Strong design patterns experience and ability to refactor codebases.
• Experience refactoring code for readability and maintainability.
• Unit, integration, and performance testing to ensure robustness.
• Diagnosing and resolving complex performance issues with profiling tools.
• Ability to lead large projects and align technical/business goals.
• Mentoring junior developers and guiding team growth.
• Familiar with load testing and performance tuning.
• Active participation in technical discussions with creative solutions.
• Experience with diagramming tools like Miro.

Responsibilities

• Design and build backend services using .NET Core 8 integrating with system components.
• Optimize database performance with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and DynamoDB data models.
• Participate in system design to ensure scalable, maintainable services.
• Conduct code reviews to enforce standards and give feedback.
• Refactor existing codebases for efficiency and readability.
• Write unit and integration tests with high coverage.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues in production and development.
• Document architectural decisions and runbooks for knowledge sharing.
• Participate in deployments, ensuring systems function after releases.
