Job summary

UTOPIA is seeking a hands-on Legal & Compliance Manager to stay on top of regulatory obligations across UTOPIA Studio and Utopia Capital. The role partners with the COO/CEO, supports the outsourced MLRO, and ensures timely filings, records, and governance across the platform.

Based in Doha, Qatar, this full-time position offers remote allowances in the summer and reports to the COO. Competitive compensation circa US$50,000 per annum, with exposure to QFCRA-regulated operations and international

Qualifications

4–6 years in a compliance, regulatory reporting or filings function.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or economics.
Law degree or compliance certification is not mandatory, though advantageous.
Familiarity with regulatory filing processes; QFCRA/DFSA/FSRA exposure is a strong plus.
Meticulous, deadline-driven, and capable of independent delivery.
GCC experience preferred; knowledge of Qatar’s regulatory landscape is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Own regulatory filings and reporting across both entities.
Run day‑to‑day compliance monitoring and liaise with outsourced MLRO/Compliance Officer.
Coordinate onboarding and KYC due diligence; maintain conflict registers.
Manage contract lifecycle and central legal repository; coordinate with external counsel.
Keep governance records organized and ensure filings and licences are up to date.
