Job summary

QC+ is seeking a Librarian for an on-site, full-time role in Qatar. The position focuses on delivering high-quality public library services, developing collections, and supporting museum education programs. You will advise the Head of Library, supervise library staff, and ensure safety and compliance with policies.

The role requires fluency in Arabic and English, strong knowledge of cataloguing rules, and experience with library systems. Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts are expected.

Qualifications

• Fluent in Arabic and English.
• In depth knowledge of Library of Congress Cataloguing rules.
• Knowledge of library processes, systems and professional standards.
• Ability to use information databases such as WorldCat, JSTOR.
• Experience in public services and library operations.

Responsibilities

• Public: Communication / orientation with library visitors.
• Advisory: Supporting Head of Library.
• Deliver public services including facility, collections and services to visitors.
• Provide quality research service to visitors using available resources.
• Supervise and train Library Assistants and volunteers.
• Develop library programs in coordination with Education division.
• Manage circulation desk and staff, overdue items, and conditions.
• Ensure Health & Safety measures on site.
