Stantec in Doha seeks a Senior Master Planner specializing in stormwater, drainage and wastewater networks to lead an integrated water management project.   • Chartered Engineer status from an internationally recognized institution.
  • Experience with wastewater infrastructure, recycled water, surface and groundwater systems.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day oversight of team leads and contract administration.
  • Review data collection, analysis, and design information.

Job description

The role involves managing a key integrated master planning project related to stormwater & drainage, flood alleviation, wastewater networks, wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations and recycled water. This will involve undertaking data collection, review of strategies and planning, contract administration, and detailed Client liaison. Key accountabilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Manage the work input of a wide team of multi-disciplinary engineers and experts
  • Lead the master planning process with a fully integrated approach, bringing together sewerage, surface water, groundwater, and treated effluent components to deliver a unified, sustainable, and resilient water management framework.
  • Provide day- to- day oversight of the sewerage, surface water, groundwater, and treated sewage effluent team leads. Proactively administer the contract by assessing Client requests against the agreed scope and formally documenting and communicating all contractual and commercial matters to the Client.
  • Oversee and evaluate significant data collection within a defined timeframe from multiple key stakeholders.
  • Review data collection and analysis for strategy, planning, and high-level project identification
  • Review field investigations (if any) to collect design information.
  • Manage preparation of updates to technical specifications and guidance documentation.
  • Technical writing of the final deliverables in coordination with engineering experts.
  • Manage project activities through the application of engineering planning, principles, and techniques.
  • Review project deliverables, including writing technical reports, gathering information, drafting proposals, drafting correspondence, assisting in tracking project costs, and completing progress reports.
  • Work in conjunction with engineers to solve strategic challenges
  • Regular liaison with teams working remotely from other parts of the world to facilitate completion of tasks and projects.
  • Internal and external client liaison.
  • Follow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.
  • Complete all work in line with Stantec Core Values and in accordance with Stantec Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures.
  • Identify risks on project and derive risk mitigation measures and plans as appropriate,
  • Work and follow Stantec's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics
  • Manage and take ownership of the tasks and deliverables to be completed in a quality and timely manner,
  • Conduct monthly commercial project reviews, including support for the provision of estimates at completion (EAC), costs to complete (CTC), estimated revenues at completion (ERAC), accruals, provisions, profitability, and gross margin analysis,
  • Prepare and review weekly, monthly, and quarterly progress reports to be submitted to the Client.
  • Critical administration of the contract, including managing variation orders, claims, etc.
  • Manage resourcing and resource planning on the project.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an internationally recognized university.
  • Minimum of 18 years of work experience.
  • Membership of an accredited Project Management institution
  • Professional Chartered Engineer status from an internationally recognized institution.
  • Experience with wastewater infrastructure, recycled water, surface and groundwater systems, and planning.
  • Experience in evaluating technical and financial proposals.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
  • The ability to manage a heavy workload, with close attention to detail.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • The ability to work autonomously, reviewing your work on a regular basis while consistently meeting your objectives.
  • Strong teamwork capabilities. Committed to working with all levels of management on a daily and ongoing basis.
