Job Description
Job Title: Project Manager
Role Purpose:

Under the direction of the Facility and Support Services (F&SS) Director provide oversight to all hospital facility projects. This includes planning, organizing manpower for project activities, implementation, project control, and evaluation. Lead projects as needed for Hospital Operations and collaborate with other departments as instructed by the F&SS Director. Responsible for managing the processes and procedures that form the facility project program for the hospital. Responsible for the Hospital engineering equipment management and inventory.

Job Responsibilities: - (Including but not limited to):
  • Plan and deliver project activities related to engineering scope of work.
  • Manage projects by determining project specifications, design, end user requirements, and performance standards.
  • Monitor on-going activities, review the project schedule, and revise the schedule as required.
  • Organize and arrange all manpower with appropriate skills necessary to carry out all project activities.
  • Manage project contractors according to the established policies and practices of the Hospital and the parent company policies.
  • Manages and assigns tasks to engineering staff and contractors.
  • Supervise and approve contractor's completed jobs and other subcontractor's jobs.
  • Communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Collaborate with other team leaders and departments.
  • Execute the project according to the project plan. Monitor the progress of the project and adjust as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project.
  • Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff within the hospital on the progress of the project, prepare progress reports for senior management.
  • Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards.
  • Strive to improve efficiency and sustainability of processes and product designs, and to reduce waste. Write progress reports on the project for senior management. Monitor all budgeted project expenditures.
  • Helps to create and oversee project budgets and engages in cost management strategies.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality. Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase. Assures that processes meet quality and safety compliance guidelines.
  • Manage the operation of the Hospital Engineering including buildings, equipment, firefighting equipment, and other services as required.
  • Responsible of hospital plants, chillers, HVAC systems, civil works, mechanical jobs, electrical jobs, plumbing, carpentry, etc.
  • Management, Monitoring and Maintenance of all Hospital Engineering Equipment.
  • Scheduling equipment periodic preventative maintenance (PPM) and corrective maintenance on hospital engineering equipment.
  • Manage equipment Service Contracts, warranty compliance and department SLA's. Develop, review and amend policies and procedures for the Hospital engineering section.
  • Prepare technical specifications, tender review, and evaluation for the purchase of new engineering equipment and projects.
  • Commissioning and installation of newly purchased hospital engineering equipment.
  • Develop annual budgets: operating, capital, and manpower for the section. Liaise with finance to finalize annual budgets.
  • Produces weekly, monthly, and annual reports for F&SS Director.
  • Assume or accept any other responsibilities as assigned by the direct supervisor within the position role and responsibility.
Job Specific Skills: -

Bachelor's Engineering degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical & or any other related field. Master's degree is preferable. Certification in Facility Management or Project Management is ideal. Minimum experience of 6 to 8 years, in which 2-3 years should be in a similar position /responsibility, preferably in a similar industry. Demonstrated managerial, supervisory, budgetary and estimation skills for project activities and implementation. Knowledge of equipment procurement processes including specification writing and tender analysis. Knowledge and experience in the management of a Hospital Regulation and Equipment service to an international standard. Proficiency using presentation software to explain complex information to non-technical management personnel and other stakeholders. Experience using computer-aided design (CAD) platforms. Professionally groomed to project a positive image. Desire to embrace a culture of excellence, collaboration, and communication. High proficiency in English language is mandatory. Arabic will be a definitive advantage.
