Job summary

QatarEnergy LNG seeks a Senior Process Engineer to advise and support process engineering activities during EPC and Startup phases, ensuring safety, operability, reliability and maintainability throughout the facility life cycle.

You will influence project decisions by considering OPEX alongside CAPEX, ensure compliance with QG specifications, and participate in reviews to provide input on designs and procedures for field operations while mitigating risks associated with new technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.
• 8 years of oil & gas experience.
• Experience with RCFA, Hazop, FRA, Hazid, and SIL verification.

Responsibilities

• Provide process engineering support to RCFA, Hazop, FRA, Hazid, and SIL verification.
• Develop SOPs for new projects and procedures.
• Develop and implement process surveillance tools for safe, reliable production and timely escalation of threats.
• Support System Completions walks-down prior to commissioning and startup.
• Assist with tying in systems and advising Operations and Maintenance to meet project objectives.

Job description

• Advise and support Process Engineering related activities during EPC and Startup phase until handover to permanent Asset whilst ensuring project deliverables meet Operations expectations in term of Safety, Operability, Reliability and Maintainability over the facility design life cycle.
• Able to effectively influence project decisions based not only on CAPEX but considering OPEX for the project life cycle.
• Ensures compliance with QG specifications, processes and procedures for the assigned projects.
• Participate in reviews and provide technical inputs to designs and procedures for the implementation of approved field operations whilst mitigating new technology risks introduced by the project.

Key Job Accountabilities - I

• Actively participate and provide process engineering support to RCFA, Hazop, FRA, Hazid, SIL verification and process safety and reliability issues.
• Support development of Standard Operating Procedures required for the new projects.
• Develop and implement process surveillance tools for Operations assets in compliance with surveillance plan to ensure safe, reliable and optimum production, including troubleshooting, engineering recommendations and timely escalation of threats and deviations from surveillance monitoring.
• Active participation in System Completions processes for Walk-down prior to commissioning and startup (eg, witness of chemical/catalysts loading).
• Maintain Issue Register identifying and resolving critical issues including new technology risks (under area of responsibility) which could impact new project Reliability, Availability and Cyber Security.

Key Job Accountabilities - II

• Provide technical input related to area of expertise to other disciplines and functions as per requirements to support overall business objectives.
• Support and facilitate smooth completion of project tie-in requirements for all systems under the area of responsibility.
• Support high risk commissioning activities for high complexities & large scale projects by (a) undertaking stringent system surveillance, (b) tuning and optimizing systems, and (c) providing advisory supports to Operations and Maintenance.

Qualifications

Knowledge and/or Experience - I

• 8 years' experience in an oil and gas environment.
