Job summary

QatarEnergy LNG seeks an experienced Process Engineer to advise during EPC and startup, ensuring safety, operability and maintainability across the facility life cycle. You will support RCFA, Hazop, FRA, Hazid, and SIL verifications and help develop SOPs and surveillance tools for safe production.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and about 8 years in oil and gas, with the ability to influence project decisions on CAPEX and OPEX throughout the lifecycle.

Part A: Job Specification Job Purpose Advise and support Process Engineering related activities during EPC and Startup phase until handover to permanent Asset whilst ensuring project deliverables meet Operations expectations in term of Safety, Operability, Reliability and Maintainability over the facility design life cycle.

Job Context & Major Challenge(s)

Able to effectively influence project decisions based not only on CAPEX but considering OPEX for the project life cycle. Ensures compliance with QG specifications, processes and procedures for the assigned projects. Participate in reviews and provide technical inputs to designs and procedures for the implementation of approved field operations whilst mitigating new technology risks introduced by the project.

Key Job Accountabilities

• Actively participate and provide process engineering support to RCFA, Hazop, FRA, Hazid, SIL verification and process safety and reliability issues.
• Support development of Standard Operating Procedures required for the new projects.
• Develop and implement process surveillance tools for Operations assets in compliance with surveillance plan to ensure safe, reliable and optimum production, including troubleshooting, engineering recommendations and timely escalation of threats and deviations from surveillance monitoring.
• Active participation in System Completions processes for Walk-down prior to commissioning and startup (eg, witness of chemical/catalysts loading).
• Maintain Issue Register identifying and resolving critical issues including new technology risks (under area of responsibility) which could impact new project Reliability, Availability and Cyber Security.
• Provide technical input related to area of expertise to other disciplines and functions as per requirements to support overall business objectives.
• Support and facilitate smooth completion of project tie-in requirements for all systems under the area of responsibility.
• Support high risk commissioning activities for high complexities & large scale projects by (a) undertaking stringent system surveillance, (b) tuning and optimizing systems, and (c) providing advisory supports to Operations and Maintenance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering.

Knowledge and/or Experience

8 years' experience in an oil and gas environment.
