Job summary

Swan Global in Doha, Qatar seeks an Electrical Distribution Technician (EDT) for a 3-month period with possible extension. The role focuses on installation, maintenance, and repair of power distribution systems, including generators, transformers, switchboards and panels.

Local availability and a valid freelance visa are required. Candidates should have at least 5 years of relevant experience in electrical distribution and construction environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as an Electrical Distribution Technician or Electrician.
• Construction industry experience is mandatory.
• Locally available in Qatar with a valid Freelance Visa.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical distribution systems for power generation and usage.
• Install and service generators, transformers, switchboards, panels, controllers, breakers, motors and heating units.
• Install and maintain conduit systems, cabling, PDUs, ECUs and transmission equipment.
• Ensure proper voltage supply and distribution to equipment and outlets.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, layouts and specifications.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in power distribution systems and equipment.
• Perform load calculations and verify wiring capacity and equipment ratings.
• Use electrical hand tools and testing instruments such as multimeters and clamp meters.
• Ensure compliance with construction standards, codes and site safety.
• Coordinate with other trades and site teams to support project activities.
• Maintain documentation, inspection records and reports.
• Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems and power equipment.
