Job summary

CH2M HILL PMC Rail Interface Lead - Doha, Qatar

Qatar will be hosting the 2022 FIFA World CupTM and become the first Middle East nation in history to stage this event. The associated construction programme will be part of a major country regeneration programme including the development of required infrastructure, competition and noncompetitive venues.

CH2M HILL is the programme management (PMC) responsible for the construction management of competition venues, training sites, associated common domain precincts and the coordination of the regeneration programme integration works, acting on behalf of the client Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee.

Job Purpose:

The Interface Lead – Rail reports directly to the Interface Manager Rail and is accountable for the monitoring and oversight of rail projects as they are planned, construction is implemented and rail operations and systems are delivered as required for a successful 2022 World Cup QatarTM (Tournament) experience. Such rail works are considered Infrastructure under CH2M HILL’s Programme Management Consultant (PMC) scope of services.

Key qualifications for this position include:

• BSc. degree in engineering, plus 10 or more years of relevant work experience, including both design and construction of rail projects.
• Previous work experience in the State of Qatar and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries is preferred. Because of the size and complexity of the projects being coordinated and monitored, the qualified candidate must demonstrate a high degree of technical proficiency, subject matter expertise and the necessary interpersonal skills to effectively influence the delivering entities and stakeholders.
• The candidate must be able to identify potential delivery risks and offer timely technical solutions.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are required. The applicant must be highly motivated and able to work independently.

Job Specifications & Scope of Responsibility

• Requisite number of years of relevant work experience, including rail / metro projects.
• Minimum of 5 years in a project coordination role.
• Preference will be given to previous work experience in the State of Qatar.
• High degree of technical proficiency in the successful delivery of programmes and/or projects of similar size and complexity.
• Maturity and interpersonal skills needed to effectively influence the delivering entities and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in risk management, safety, quality and sustainability aspects.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to communicate in English and Arabic is a plus.
• Motivated and able to work independently.
• Demonstrate adherence to high ethical standards.

Education & Experience

• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in engineering; preferred Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years as a Professional / Chartered
