Job summary

Qatar Airways Group is seeking an experienced ORAT Project Manager to lead planning, coordination and delivery of Operational Readiness, Activation and Transition programs at Hamad International Airport.

You will ensure new facilities, expansions, and system upgrades are fully prepared before live operations, working with airlines, contractors, ground handlers and regulators to ensure safe, efficient transitions. Strong leadership and English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least 6 years of job-related experience or
• High school qualification, vocational qualification, diploma or equivalent with at least 7 years of job-related experience.
• Practical experience in ORAT methodologies, planning and execution.
• Experience in project planning, execution and control.
• Experience in airport operations across one or more operational areas.
• Lead role in an ORAT project and coordinating cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of operational trials, simulations, testing and readiness requirements.
• Strong project management and organisational skills.
• Good knowledge of airport operations.
• Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow.
• Coaching, mentoring and team-development skills.
• Strong focus on safety, quality and customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement ORAT strategies and readiness plans for new facilities, airport expansions and infrastructure upgrades.
• Coordinate the transition of facilities and systems from construction or project delivery into live airport operations.
• Conduct operational impact assessments and identify actions needed to minimise disruption.
• Develop contingency plans to maintain operational continuity during major transitions.
• Plan and coordinate operational trials, simulations, testing and readiness activities.
• Confirm that operational processes, systems, people and facilities are ready before opening or activation.
• Coordinate with airport management, airlines, contractors, ground handlers, service providers and regulatory authorities.
• Maintain clear readiness documentation, project controls, performance tracking and reporting.
• Identify project risks, monitor mitigation actions and escalate critical readiness concerns.
• Lead operational change initiatives and support process improvements.
• Capture lessons learned and apply them to future ORAT and change projects.
• Prepare progress reports and presentations for senior management.
• Lead and develop team members while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and service delivery

Qualifications and experience

You should meet one of the following requirements:

• Experience in project planning, execution and control.
• Experience in airport operations across one or more operational areas.
• Previous experience performing a lead role in an ORAT project.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional stakeholders in a complex operational environment.
• Strong understanding of operational trials, simulations, testing and readiness requirements.
• Strong project management and organisational skills.
• Good knowledge of airport operations.
