Job summary

North Oil Company in Doha, Qatar seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer Lead to oversee offshore facilities engineering activities. The role requires coordinating with E&C disciplines, field operations, and procurement, while ensuring safety and adherence to standards in all mechanical design tasks.

You will design and size mechanical equipment, review contractor deliverables, prepare data sheets and specifications, and participate in technical reviews and FAT with vendors.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualification: B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, working towards professional/chartered status.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in O&G with at least 5 years offshore experience covering full mechanical rotating equipment portfolio.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete tasks assigned by the Mechanical Lead with prioritization and reporting.
• Follow instructions but also take initiative and propose original ideas.
• Ensure NOC rules, specifications and procedures are followed in execution of tasks/projects safely and timely.
• Read and interpret facilities engineering drawings and suggest modifications or recommendations.
• Prepare mechanical equipment pre-sizing, data sheets, and design/supply specifications.
