Responsibilities

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, equipment, and components throughout the hotel.
  • Ensure that lighting systems, power outlets, electrical appliances, and related equipment are operating safely and efficiently.
  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical panels, generators, transformers, UPS systems, and other electrical equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical faults related to HVAC systems, kitchen equipment, cold rooms, refrigerators, and other hotel operational equipment.
  • Record daily readings and conduct routine checks of assigned equipment to ensure proper and efficient operation.
  • Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns, maintenance requests, and guest-related electrical concerns to minimize operational disruption.
  • Install and maintain electrical wiring, switches, sockets, circuit breakers, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components as required.
  • Assist with the installation, modification, and commissioning of new electrical equipment and fixtures in guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, and hotel facilities.
  • Recommend improvements to existing electrical systems to enhance operational efficiency, reliability, safety, and cost effectiveness.
  • Support initiatives aimed at reducing energy consumption and utility costs while maintaining hotel operational standards.
  • Assist in upgrading outdated electrical systems and equipment where required.
  • Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance in accordance with the hotel's POMEC program and Engineering standards.
  • Monitor the condition and performance of electrical systems and promptly identify potential faults or operational risks.
  • Support the monitoring and analysis of energy consumption and departmental utility expenditures.
  • Participate, where required, in the preparation and implementation of the annual POMEC budget.
  • Contribute ideas and recommendations for improving Engineering procedures, energy efficiency, and equipment performance.
  • Follow all applicable electrical safety regulations, hotel policies, Engineering procedures, and local requirements.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify electrical hazards and take appropriate corrective action.
  • Maintain emergency lighting, fire alarm-related electrical systems, generators, inverters, and backup power systems as assigned.
  • Be fully familiar with the hotel's safety, first aid, fire, and emergency procedures and operate all tools and equipment safely.
  • Immediately report any unsafe conditions, accidents, incidents, or major technical concerns in accordance with hotel procedures.
  • Assist the Engineering Supervisor, Duty Engineer, and Chief Engineer with electrical maintenance requirements and technical assignments.
  • Coordinate and cooperate with other Engineering colleagues and departments to support smooth hotel operations.
  • Assist in preparing required spare-parts lists for electrical systems and maintenance equipment.
  • Monitor electrical spare-parts inventory and advise the supervisor when replenishment or additional materials are required.
  • Liaise and cooperate with external contractors and service providers as directed by the supervisor or Chief Engineer.
  • Ensure plant rooms, electrical rooms, workshops, and related working areas are maintained in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Provide courteous and professional assistance to guests when required, maintaining the service standards expected within a luxury hotel environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of electrical inspections, repairs, preventive maintenance activities, equipment readings, and completed work.
  • Maintain appropriate daily logs and update maintenance records as required.
  • Report major electrical faults, recurring technical issues, and equipment concerns to the Supervisor, Duty Engineer, or Chief Engineer.
  • Provide accurate information regarding required spare parts, materials, and equipment for planned and corrective maintenance.
