Job summary

Almuftah Group is seeking a skilled lubrication technician to carry out lubrication of rotary equipment at Qatar Energy Refinery and related facilities. You will perform preventive and corrective lubrication tasks, check and fill lube oil, and maintain grease systems.

Requires a Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical Technology and a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a rotating equipment lubrication technician, with knowledge of best practices and lubrication software.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in mechanical technology from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 5 years as rotating equipment lubrication technician.
• Experience with refinery/rotating equipment.
• Familiarity with lubrication software.
• Machinery lubrication courses completed.

Responsibilities

• Carry out lubrication tasks (preventive and corrective) for refinery rotary equipment.
• Receive instructions from the Sr. Mechanical Engineer/Mechanical Engineer and obtain tools and spare parts.
• Perform lubrication operations including checking/filling lube oil and grease; maintain oil systems and filters.
• Report daily lubrication tasks.
• Monitor lubrication-related abnormalities and inform the supervisor.
• Handle and store lubricants properly.
• Raise corrective work orders for lubrication issues in liaison with supervisor.
• Recommend asset integrity team for oil analysis when required.
• Monitor and analyze heavy lubricants such as grease.

Job description

Carry out highly skilled activities related to lubrication of rotary equipment at Qatar Energy Refinery, Chemical plant, Berth 4 C 6, BSV3 and Station C1 and Hamad Intl. Airport (HIA).

Key Responsibilities

• To carry out lubrication tasks (preventive as well as corrective) of rotary equipment of refinery/ operating areas under refinery.
• Receives verbal instructions from Sr. Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Engineer, obtains material C tools and spare parts from stores as reserved by authorized engineer and performs the relevant tasks.
• To perform the relevant lubrication function including checking / filling lube oil/ grease in bearing housings, oil consoles, crank cases etc. Replacement and cleaning of lube oil systems, filters, lube oil sight glasses, hydraulic oil filters, maintain auto greasing and drip- feeding systems etc.
• Reporting of all the daily lubrication tasks carried out.
• Monitoring any lubrication related abnormality and informing the supervisor.
• Proper handling and storage of lubricants.
• Raising corrective works orders/ sub-workers for rectification of lubrication related problems in liaison with supervisor and maintenance planning.
• Recommend/ request asset integrity team to perform oil analysis, if required.
• Monitoring and analysis of heavy lubricants, for instance grease.

Qualifications & Experience

Education: Qualified with a Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical Technology from a recognized institution.

Experience:

• A minimum of 5 years’ time employed as a rotating equipment lubrication technician.
• (Additional 02 years prior experience as rotary technician will be preferable)
• Extensive knowledge of Mechanical Rotary equipment. Ability to work in a multinational environment
• Familiarity with lubrication is the best practices and related lubrication software would be beneficial.
• Successful completion of machinery lubrication courses
