Job summary

Radisson Hotel Group in Doha, Qatar, seeks a dedicated lifeguard/pool attendant to maintain safety and water quality across our hotel pools. You will monitor the pool area during duty hours, respond to emergencies, and ensure guest comfort with a courteous, Yes I Can attitude.

Duties include testing water chemistry, inspecting pumps and filters, coordinating maintenance, and keeping poolside areas clean and inviting, including sun loungers and the Jacuzzi.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard certification required and up-to-date CPR/First Aid certifications.
• 1–2 years experience as lifeguard or pool attendant preferred.
• Good swimming and rescue skills; ability to respond quickly in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Remain attentive at pool area during duty hours and ensure guest safety.
• Maintain water quality; monitor pumps, drains, filters, and pool heating.
• Report maintenance needs to Club Supervisor and coordinate with maintenance.
• Test pool water daily; manage pH and chlorine levels.
• Keep pool, children’s splash pool and jacuzzi clean; maintain fountain weekly.
• Arrange sun loungers, chairs, and umbrellas poolside; monitor and replace as needed.

Job description

Job Responsibilities

• Remain at the pool area at all times during duty hours and look after the safety of pool users.
• Maintain the swimming pool water quality, ensuring no side effects to users.
• Check daily the performance of pumps, drains, filters, and the heating system of the swimming pool and report to the maintenance department and club supervisor if maintenance is required.
• Coordinate with the maintenance department regarding:
  • Recording the swimming pool’s temperature, chlorine, and pH levels.
  • Maintenance and cleaning of the filtration system.
  • Supervise operation of circulation system and maintain it in operating order, ensuring required volume of recirculated water.
• Test the pool water daily, ensuring it is hygienically safe and carry out necessary additions.
• Test for PH and chlorine levels and ensure correct maintenance.
• Check the pool’s lights, tiles and report their status for maintenance.
• Be responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of the swimming pool, children’s splash pool, and jacuzzi.
• Attend and maintain the cleanliness of the fountain at the hotel front on a weekly basis.
• Arrange sun loungers, mattresses, chairs, tables, and umbrellas by the pool side daily.
• Maintain general condition, check all pool assets and report missing or damaged items to Club Reception and Club Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid lifeguard certification issued by a recognized government authority.
• Possess up‑to‑date first aid and CPR certifications.
• Have 1–2 years of experience as a lifeguard or pool attendant, preferably in a hotel or resort environment.
• Possess excellent swimming and rescue skills and ability to respond quickly in emergencies.
• Basic understanding of pool water testing, filtration systems, and chemical handling.
• Good health and physical condition to perform rescues and handle emergencies.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with guests and colleagues professionally.
• Positive “Yes I Can!” attitude, friendly demeanor, and commitment to guest satisfaction.
• Adhere to hotel grooming and uniform standards at all times.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
