Job summary

Qatar Airways Group seeks a Licensed Aircraft Engineer (B2 Avionics) in Doha to ensure maintenance of aircraft and expedient rectification of defects under the Supervisor Maintenance. The role includes flying duties as the Operating Engineer and supervising maintenance staff to ensure safe, on-time dispatch.

Candidates should have a Part 66 license or equivalent, a minimum of ten years' LAE experience in line and base maintenance, and current ratings on multiple aircraft types including A340,

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or technical diploma and Part 66 license.
• Minimum 10 years' experience as Licensed Aircraft Engineer (B2) in line and base maintenance.
• Current type ratings and 5+ years on at least two of the listed aircraft types.

Responsibilities

• Exercising license for line and base maintenance.

About the role

A Licensed Aircraft Engineer (LAE) B2 Avionics is responsible to ensure proper maintenance of aircraft and expedient rectification of aircraft defects as directed by the Supervisor Maintenance. Performs flying duties as allocated to an aircraft. He supervises Maintenance staff allocated to him, to ensure safe and on time dispatch of aircraft under his control.

Main Duties Include But Not Limited To

• Exercising his license in relation to the accomplishment of aircraft line and base maintenance.
• Reviewing the work and resources allocated.
• Informing Supervisor Maintenance (SVM) of performed work and advising SVM of impending service disruption.
• Defining priorities of work and ensuring efficiency of allocated staff.
• Ensuring completed documentation and certification of maintenance work.
• Reporting and compilation of technical reports.
• Performing flying duties as the “Operating Engineer”.
• Debriefing responsible staff to ensure defects are defined and recorded.
• Exercising the role as the company representative on site during subcontracted maintenance layovers.
• Effecting special projects.
• Supporting Supervisor Maintenance and Senior Manager Aircraft Maintenance in regards to their duties.

Qualification

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications, experience and skills:

• Apprenticeship in Technical Profession. Profession equivalent to bachelor's degree or holder of a Part 66 License.
• A minimum of ten (10) years' experience as Licensed Aircraft Engineer (B2) in line and base maintenance.
• Technical Aviation Training.
• Aircraft Maintenance Engineering License.
• Comprehensive aviation knowledge.
• Must be current type ratings and minimum of 5 years' experience on at least 2 of the following aircraft types: Airbus A340-500, Airbus A330/CF6, Airbus 320 Family V2500/CFM, Boeing 747-8i, Boeing 777-200 GE90
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Ability to make clear, rational decisions under pressure.
• Good communications, interpersonal and negotiating skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under demanding operational environments.
