Job summary

IRM Energy & Technology in Qatar is seeking a senior Process Engineer to advise and support process engineering activities during EPC and Startup, ensuring safety, operability, reliability, and maintainability throughout the facility life cycle.

You will lead safety assessments, SOP development, and system surveillance while coordinating with Operations and Maintenance on high-risk commissioning and handover to permanent assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry.

Responsibilities

• Participate in RCFA, HAZOP, FRA, HAZID, SIL verification and process safety assessments.
• Develop and support Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for new projects.
• Develop and implement process surveillance tools to ensure safe, reliable and optimized operations, including troubleshooting and deviation escalation.
• Participate in system completion walkdowns and pre-commissioning/start-up activities, including chemical and catalyst loading.
• Maintain issue registers and address critical issues, including technology risks affecting reliability, availability and cybersecurity.
• Provide process engineering expertise and technical support to other disciplines and functions.
• Support and coordinate project tie-in requirements across assigned systems.
• Support high-risk commissioning activities through system surveillance, optimization, tuning and technical guidance to Operations and Maintenance teams.
