Job summary
Altea Energy is seeking an experienced HV GIS commissioning lead to on-site oversee the testing and commissioning of high-voltage GIS equipment in Qatar. You will coordinate procedures, inspections, and HSE compliance while working with installation and commissioning teams.
The role requires hands-on GIS testing knowledge, experience with 8DQ1/8DN9 GIS, and strong SCADA/control interface understanding. You will document results and support handover activities.
Qualifications
- Extensive HV GIS commissioning experience is required.
- Hands-on GIS experience with 8DQ1 and/or 8DN9 is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GIS testing procedures, OEM requirements, and QA.
- Experience with SCADA interfaces and protection/control integration.
- Commitment to HSE standards and safe commissioning practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise on-site commissioning and testing of HV GIS equipment.
- Coordinate commissioning activities per procedures, drawings, specs, and HSE requirements.
- Review installation readiness and ensure readiness for commissioning and testing.
- Supervise GIS commissioning tasks including insulation resistance, contact resistance, and circuit breaker tests.
- Coordinate gas-handling activities per OEM procedures and KAHRAMAA requirements.
- Verify system interfaces with protection, control, SCADA, and other teams.
- Prepare and maintain commissioning records, test reports, and handover docs.
- Support troubleshooting and corrective actions during commissioning.
