Job summary

IRM Energy & Technology in Doha, Qatar, is seeking an experienced Commissioning Lead to manage electrical commissioning during preparation and execution of wellhead platforms, ensuring safety and adherence to approved scope and schedule.

You will oversee offshore and onshore commissioning, supervise subcontractors, ensure readiness of spares and tools, and support procedures, walkdowns, PSSR, and safety requirements including LOTO, PTW, and JSA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or applied sciences is required.
• 8+ years in oil & gas projects with supervisory roles.
• Knowledge of codes, standards and technical specifications.
• Experience in project execution, engineering, operations, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and system completion.
• Proficient in reading P&IDs, datasheets, GA drawings, and procedures.
• Experience with LNG industry vendors and packages (compressors, power generation, control systems, topsides).
• Strong experience in commissioning and OT of electrical systems including UPS, HV/LV, transformers, subsea cables and power distribution.
• Familiar with LOTO procedures, electrical codes/standards and ATEX/IEC regulations.
• Experience managing EPC contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Experience in start-up support, handover to Operations, and offshore environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage electrical commissioning activities in line with schedule and SIMOPS safety requirements.
• Lead offshore and onshore electrical commissioning execution.
• Supervise contractor commissioning activities and methodology compliance.
• Ensure readiness of commissioning spare parts and special tools.
• Manage system completion, walkdowns, and PSSR activities.
• Support preparation of commissioning procedures and check sheets.
• Ensure compliance with safety and cybersecurity requirements (LOTO, PTW, JSA, energization).
• Maintain lessons learned register for offshore scope.
