Job summary

QatarEnergy Qatarization seeks an experienced Lead Designer to manage drafting activities and provide technical leadership across onshore and offshore projects.

You will oversee Electrical and Instrumentation drafting from concept through detailed design and as‑built stages, ensuring compliance with Shell/industry and QatarEnergy standards. Proficiency in Aveva E3D and Hexagon S3D is essential.

Qualifications

• Multidiscipline engineering knowledge, mainly Electrical/Instrumentation.
• Thorough knowledge of Industry/International standards and Shell DEPs or QatarEnergy standards.
• 10 years post graduate experience, at least 6 years in Oil & Gas at senior level.
• Lead designers for Electrical, Instrumentation, telecommunication and HSE disciplines from concept to detailed design and as‑built.
• Experience in 3D modelling software Aveva E3D, Hexagon S3D.
• Lead preparation and checking of deliverables like SLDs, cable layouts, instrument diagrams, etc.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the drafting team and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards and procedures.
• Provide technical direction and leadership during all project phases (FEED to commissioning).
• Oversee deliverables from concept through detailed design and as‑built stages.

Job description

Primary Purpose of the Job

Manage the drafting activities of his section and provides technical leadership under the guidance of Head of Design, provide technical direction and leadership to his section within the assigned area of responsibility, during the various stages of Onshore and Offshore Engineering Projects including project initiation, Scope of Work preparation for FEED, ECS, EPIC, Installation and Commissioning. Supervise the performance of his section and ensure that drafting designs are in compliance with applicable Corporate, National and International codes, standards, specifications and procedures.

Required Experience and Skills

1. Shall possess multi-discipline engineering knowledge,mainly in Electrical and Instrumentation disciplines
2. Shall possess sound technical skills and have a thorough knowledge of Industry/ International standards, Shell DEPs and / or QatarEnergy standards.
3. 10 years relevant post graduate experience, out of which 6 years in Oil & Gas industry at senior level.
4. Lead and manage the designers and draftsman for Electrical, Instrumentation, telecommunication and technical HSE disciplines for assigned projects from Concept to detailed design and as‑built stages.
5. Experience in 3D modelling software like Aveva E3D, Hexagon S3D, etc
6. Lead preparation and checking of deliverables including SLD, Electrical Equipment Layout, Cable schedules, cable routing layouts, Instrument location layouts, JB layouts and hook‑up drawings, Instrument loop diagrams, Cable routing and termination drawings, Instrument index, I/O list, wiring diagrams, etc.

Educational Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
