Job summary

Apparel Group in Doha, Qatar seeks a Kitchen Commis for Japanese cuisine to support daily prep and mise en place under the Chef. The role covers preparing ingredients for sushi, ramen, tempura, donburi and more while ensuring portion control, freshness and kitchen hygiene.

Responsibilities include organizing prep lists, labeling and storing ingredients, and assisting Sushi Chefs and other kitchen sections to meet menu standards during service.

Qualifications

• Experience in Japanese kitchen preparation and mise en place.
• Understand HACCP and hygiene standards.
• Proficient knife handling and safe kitchen practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for sushi, sashimi, ramen, tempura, and other dishes.
• Organize daily mise en place before service and portion ingredients.
• Follow portion sizes and quality standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the prep area.
• Assist chefs and kitchen staff during service and opening/closing.
