Job summary

Nebras Energy in Qatar is seeking a Junior/Mid level Maintenance Engineer with strong plant automation experience to manage turbine control systems and associated instrumentation. The role covers routine and breakdown maintenance, configuration, and safety compliance across DCS, PLC, and instrumentation networks.

The ideal candidate holds a Mechanical Engineering degree with 8 years in energy or power sectors and is proficient in English.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is mandatory.
• 8 years of experience in energy or power sectors is mandatory.
• Experience with turbine and plant control systems: GE Mark V/VIe, Siemens T3000, ABB Procontrol, Emerson Ovation, Yokogawa Centum.
• English proficiency mandatory; Arabic language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop thorough understanding of plant automation systems including ABB Procontrol, ABB Advant, Yokogawa Centum, Emerson Ovation, ALSPA EDCS, Siemens S7, Allen-Bradley PLC, and Mitsubishi PLC.
• Conduct routine, breakdown-shutdown, and planned maintenance activities with team coordination for scheduling and resources.
• Perform instrument and control maintenance across DCS, PLC, valve actuators, positioners, transmitters, switches, sensors, analysers, servers, and HMIs.
• Set up, configure, and maintain plant instrumentation equipment such as positioners, analysers, transmitters, and control systems.
• Follow safety SOPs; ensure tools and environments comply with safety regulations.
• Collaborate to assess availability and reliability of equipment post-maintenance to sustain quality and quantity of work.
• Support root cause analysis and troubleshooting for shutdowns and breakdowns; identify system improvements.
• Analyse plant performance to propose evidence-based corrections to processes or equipment.
• Respond to emergency call-outs and support operations around the clock.
