Job summary

The American Academy School Qatar is seeking an ICT Teacher to join our on-site Doha campus. This full-time role focuses on delivering engaging ICT and computer science lessons aligned to the American curriculum, across multiple grades.

You will plan lessons, assess progress, provide feedback, and integrate technology to develop digital literacy while maintaining an inclusive, student-centered learning environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher with appropriate certifications in ICT or related subjects.
• Strong IT/CS knowledge to deliver curriculum content.
• Effective communication for instruction and engagement with families.
• Proven lesson planning abilities for age-appropriate ICT lessons.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT/CS or related field; advanced degrees a plus.
• Experience in international or American-curriculum schools is beneficial.
• Experience with educational technologies and LMS.

Role Description

The ICT Teacher is a full-time, on-site position based in Doha, Qatar. This role involves planning and delivering engaging ICT lessons aligned with the American curriculum for various grade levels. Daily responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, teaching concepts in information technology and computer science, assessing student progress, and providing constructive feedback. The teacher will integrate technology into classroom activities, support learners in developing digital literacy and communication skills, and maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Candidates should be a qualified teacher with appropriate teaching certifications and experience in ICT or related subjects.
• Candidates should possess strong skills in Information Technology and Computer Science to effectively deliver curriculum content.
• Candidates should demonstrate effective Communication skills for clear instruction, collaboration with staff, and engagement with learners and families.
• Candidates should have proven Lesson Planning abilities, including designing structured, age-appropriate, and differentiated ICT lessons.
• Relevant bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required; advanced degrees are an advantage.
• Experience teaching in an international or American curriculum school setting is highly beneficial.
• Ability to use educational technologies, learning management systems, and digital tools to enhance teaching and learning.
