Qualifications

Your Day to Day

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily housekeeping operations within designated floors and areas, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest satisfaction. The role involves supervising and coordinating Room Attendants, conducting room inspections, managing daily assignments, and ensuring compliance with hotel standards, health and safety regulations, and operational procedures to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping operations across assigned guest floors, rooms, corridors, elevators, staircases, and service areas.
• Allocate daily tasks and assignments to Room Attendants, ensuring efficient workflow and timely completion of cleaning activities.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and designated areas to ensure cleanliness, presentation, and maintenance standards are consistently met.
• Verify room readiness and update room status accurately, coordinating with Front Office to ensure timely release of clean rooms.
• Prioritize and coordinate the preparation of arrival rooms, VIP arrivals, group check-ins, and back-to-back room assignments.
• Monitor daily occupancy reports, identify room status discrepancies, and communicate updates promptly to the Front Office team.
• Prepare and maintain accurate shift handover reports, ensuring outstanding tasks and operational updates are communicated to the next shift.
• Establish and monitor periodic cleaning schedules, ensuring all assigned areas are maintained according to hotel standards.
• Coordinate with Engineering regarding maintenance requests, follow up on pending work orders, and ensure timely resolution of reported issues.
• Ensure the proper handling, storage, and usage of cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with health and safety procedures.
• Monitor housekeeping equipment and supplies to ensure proper maintenance, hygiene, and availability.
• Maintain appropriate stock levels of guest supplies, linen, and cleaning materials, coordinating replenishment requests when necessary.
• Assist with housekeeping inventory counts and support effective control of departmental expenses and resources.
• Prepare and coordinate duty rosters and daily staffing arrangements to ensure adequate operational coverage.
• Handle Lost & Found items in accordance with hotel procedures, ensuring accurate documentation and prompt reporting.
• Report any incidents, damages, security concerns, or unusual occurrences to the relevant supervisor or manager.
• Train, coach, and guide Room Attendants to maintain consistent service standards, productivity, and operational efficiency.
• Monitor team performance, identify training needs, and support the continuous development of housekeeping colleagues.
• Ensure team members maintain professional grooming, personal hygiene, and compliance with hotel policies and standards.
• Promote teamwork and maintain positive working relationships with housekeeping colleagues and other hotel departments.
• Ensure compliance with fire safety, emergency procedures, health and safety regulations, and hotel security policies.
• Address guest requests and housekeeping-related concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Support the Housekeeping management team with operational requirements and other duties as assigned.

What We Are Looking For

• Diploma or certification in Hospitality Management, Housekeeping Operations, or a related field is an advantage.
• Previous experience in Housekeeping operations, preferably in a supervisory or team leader role.
• Experience in a five-star or luxury hotel environment is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of housekeeping procedures, room inspection standards, cleaning techniques, and hygiene requirements.
• Strong leadership and team supervision skills, with the ability to motivate, train, and develop colleagues.
• Good verbal communication skills in English; additional languages are an asset.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize daily operational requirements.
• Good understanding of housekeeping equipment, cleaning chemicals, and health and safety procedures.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with Front Office, Engineering, and other hotel departments.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
• Basic computer literacy and familiarity with hotel property management systems are an advantage.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle multiple operational priorities.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
